Product Information

“My mother and father never read to me.”

May your child never say that of you after they grow up, because who would disagree that one of the great joys of existence has been denied to the boy or girl who grew up without the joy of reading.

It is for the parent that wants to grow close to their child through reading good, uplifting stories; for the parent that is perplexed as to just what to read, that the Mahabharata Essentials is perfect.

Because let’s face it, there is so much garbage in the world these days. No matter which way we turn, we see advertising, propaganda and politics infiltrate the media that our children consume.

You want to read to your child. You want to build with them a bond of friendship and love. You want the books you read together to be memorable, to be instrumental in building your boy or girl into an upstanding citizen.

Because you don’t want just entertainment for your child. You want education. You want wisdom. You want to instill a deep cultural memory that will serve as a source of grit.

Grit. If there is one thing you want for your child, if there is one habit you want your child to imbibe, one quality you want him or her to possess, it is grit.

Grit that Draupadi shows to surmount all the misfortunes that the world heaps upon her.

Grit that Arjuna calls upon to practice day and night, to make himself the best archer in the world.

Grit that Karna summons every moment of his life, to help him in the search to find himself.

Introduce your child to the heroic ideals and noble thoughts of people who’ve made history.

If you do not, the reality shows, the crass films, the news channels – they will claim your legacy.

Who would you rather your child thinks of as a role model? Krishna from the Mahabharata, or the current A-list actor intent on feeding his craven audiences lies every day?

The grace and courage of Draupadi and Kunti – or the vanity and empty pride of a social media influencer?

The best that humanity has to offer – or the basest?

Fill your child’s mind with images and thoughts of great men and women that have come before us – and you will never have to worry for their future.

In the Mahabharata Essentials, you will encounter several stories that will furnish your child with role models worth emulating. Among the sages, the heroes, the queens, the princesses, the goddesses – you will meet the essence of humanity itself.

After receiving such a gift, how can a boy or girl not grow up to be generous, resolute and successful?

How can a child who receives such warmth from you not use it as fuel for growth and good?

Perfect for all Mahabharata enthusiasts. Get it today!

No Brainer for Fiction Lovers

I couldn't resist giving "The Psychological Suspense Bundle" a try when I saw it included the award-nominated "Nari." Both Ramya and Nari give such convincing testimonies that I found myself constantly questioning who to believe. This novel is definitely worth all the praise it has received. I had never heard of Sharath Komarraju before, but the beautiful covers caught my eye, and I'm so glad they did. Highly recommended! If you enjoy suspense and thriller novels. As a devoted reader of mystery novels, I found Sharath Komarraju's "Murder in Amaravati" to be particularly evocative, especially in his meticulous portrayal of the Kali temple and the authentic description of Krishna Shastri's morning rituals in the opening chapter, which transported me completely into the riverside village. Having heard of Sharath Komarraju through his acclaimed Hastinapur Series but never actually reading his work before, this bundle at such a reasonable price point seemed like the perfect introduction. Fresh Eyes on Bhishma

Sharath Komarraju's contemplative approach to character analysis is second to none, especially in the Bhishma guide that compelled me to examine this complex patriarch with fresh eyes and truly empathize with his plight. The author's conversational style creates an intimate connection. Though I initially hesitated because I'd never heard of Sharath Komarraju before, the 30-day guarantee gave me confidence to explore these 40+ hours of enlightening content. "The Rise of Hastinapur" is my favorite of the trilogy, particularly in how Gandhari's story is portrayed with such compelling depth, laying crucial groundwork for future events in the Hastinapur universe. Amba's story arc is also begun with remarkable skill, and I find myself curious to see how Sharath takes it forward. The language in the books is evocative without being too flowery - if you know what I mean. Thoroughly enjoyed these books! Exceptional

While all three novels are exceptional, 'Nari' stands out with its hard-hitting language that some might find uncomfortable, but the topic of rape and sexual abuse requires such an unflinching approach to truly convey the weight of the subject matter. Equally impressive is the quiet foreshadowing and imagery of the painting in 'Amnion', which carries the story forward with subtle hints. Sharath''s writing is evocative, bringing to life not just the characters but the psychological landscapes they inhabit. Also appreciate the printable PDF facility, which is more useful than I thought at first glance. I've discovered an intriguing world that previously seemed impenetrable. I didn't even know that there were 100 Parvas in the Mahabharata before, let alone their names! Village life come alive

The politics of village life in "Murder in Amaravati" was beautifully captured, and the little details and immersion was spot on. As someone who adores Agatha Christie's meticulous plotting, I found Sharath Komarraju's work to be equally captivating. The riverside village setting on the bank of the Krishna comes alive through his prose. Before this bundle, I'd only heard of Sharath but never tried his work. This affordable bundle seemed like the perfect introduction. If you enjoy crime fiction that makes you think, these are perfect! Awesome Ganga!

My favourite among the three books is the second - Rise of Hastinapur. It seems it's the longest of three as well, so the author takes enough time to develop each of the three characters. Each story is different to the others in tone and style, and in atmosphere. It almost felt like I got three novels for the price of one within that one book. I especially enjoyed the final Epilogue that brings the three strands of story together. Ganga is awesome! My favourite among the three books is the second - Rise of Hastinapur. Bhishma and Drona

Of all the characters in the omnibus, I like the care and empathy that Sharath lends to the Bhishma and Drona characters. These are usually on the fringes, and very rarely do you see their characters and motivations explored. The leaps of logic that Sharath makes are always well thought out. The hypotheticals and thought experiments are lovely. Can see myself getting lost in these. Enjoyed all six books!

Winds of Hastinapur was slow to start off with - I did not know what was going on for a few pages. But once I caught on to the time and place, it was a great ride! Ingenious Plotting!

Four murder mysteries in a bundle is a wonderful gift for someone like me, who is an avid crime fiction reader. I liked three of these puzzles more than the fourth. Banquet on the Dead did not appeal to me... I could guess the solution from a few pages away, and once that happened, I could spot all the red herrings too. Your mileage may vary. The other three books are great. Especially Tree Bears Witness - ingenious plotting! Four murder mysteries in a bundle is a wonderful gift for someone like me, who is an avid crime fiction reader. Great value for money. 58 proper-sized books at this price is a steal. Beautiful Variety!

Excellent reads! I'm a long-time crime fiction reader, and I am impressed by the variety on offer in these four books. Even the two Birbal books are dissimilar enough from each other to keep the reader's interest. Murder in Amaravati is a slow-burn, Banquet on the Dead is urban and fast-paced, Crows of Agra is a historical, and Tree Bears Witness is an impossible murder. Something for everyone. Deep yet Accessible

What sets these guides apart is Sharath's contemplative approach to character analysis—he doesn't just explain relationships but illuminates motivations with remarkable precision. I particularly appreciate how he clearly distinguishes facts from personal interpretation, allowing readers to form their own conclusions. Very satisfied! Superb Ending!

Okay, I must admit - the ending elevated this book for me. I was going to give it a three or four star, but the final chapter made it a five. Definitely checking out more of Sharath Komarraju's books. Okay, I must admit - the ending elevated this book for me. Inspirational

The 52 books spanning over 6000 pages might seem intimidating, but Sharath's conversational writing style makes you feel good. The Mahabharata Character Guides Omnibus became my favorite section as it helped me understand the complex motivations behind each character's actions. Highly recommended! Worth Reading

Definitely worth reading. I generally don't like crime fiction all that much, but this one kept me reading through the day. Something about the Malgudi-like atmosphere that is present in Amaravati. I like Krishna Shastri, but identify more with Venkat Reddy. Lovely little story. Definitely worth reading. Intriguing World

I've discovered an intriguing world that previously seemed impenetrable. 'The Mahabharata at a Glance: All 100 Parvas Summarized' is particularly good; this reference tells you exactly what each Parva contains. I didn't even know that there were 100 Parvas in the Mahabharata before, let alone their names! The instant download feature meant I could dive into these treasures immediately, while the multi-device compatibility ensures I'm never without these books. Very happy with the purchase.

Excellent reads! I'm a long-time crime fiction reader, and I am impressed by the variety on offer in these four books. Even the two Birbal books are dissimilar enough from each other to keep the reader's interest.

No Brainer for Fiction Lovers

Hooked

Destiny's Threads

Okay, I must admit - the ending elevated this book for me. I was going to give it a three or four star, but the final chapter made it a five. Definitely checking out more of Sharath Komarraju's books. Okay, I must admit - the ending elevated this book for me.

The politics of village life in "Murder in Amaravati" was beautifully captured, and the little details and immersion was spot on.

Great value for money. 58 proper-sized books at this price is a steal.

Excellent reads! I'm a long-time crime fiction reader, and I am impressed by the variety on offer in these four books. Even the two Birbal books are dissimilar enough from each other to keep the reader's interest.

No Brainer for Fiction Lovers

I couldn't resist giving "The Psychological Suspense Bundle" a try when I saw it included the award-nominated "Nari." Hooked

Some of the lesser known characters seemed like page-fillers, but the main characters are very well done.
