So as I get in ankle-first into the murky marketing waters, my wife created for me a Facebook page here. If you look down the right hand side of this blog, you will see that the Facebook parts of the links are now bigger and contain faces too. Faces are always better than numbers, apparently, based on psychological research. So you see, I’m pulling out all stops to seduce you into liking my page.
I’ve just finished sending personal invites to everyone on my friends list, so if you’re one of those people who are on Writer’s Mentor’s list but not on my Facebook friends list, and if you’d like to be subscribed to my official Facebook page (now why would you refuse such a tempting offer?), all you need to do is click on the link and click on ‘Like’. From then on, you will get all kinds of witty nonsense (some of it not even witty) from me that you can respond to and comment on.
Those of you who are surprised by the picture on the page, join the club. I was too. I will confess, though, that Photoshop may have helped a little. Wedding photographers use it with the panache of artists. I visited my photographer once when he was in the middle of a retouch, and I must tell you, those guys have steady hands!
All right, the Facebook page is up. Now for the hard part of keeping it going with stuff on a daily basis, yeah? Here I come.
